Dance Dolls Part 2

Now it is time for the long-awaited... Dance Dolls Part 2!  To see Dance Dolls Part 1 you can click here.  What this post was going to be changed a lot over time, but it ended up being an episode of Dance Moms, made by dolls.  Except it is only 1/6 of the time of a normal episode...

Happy Birthday Kanani

So a week ago was our Kanani's birthday, and since we were sooo busy preparing for camp, we decided to celebrate it today instead.  Thus, a photostory for you.

 A foam finger to cheer on her favorite team!!  (They sometimes

hand these out at baseball games, and they are perfect for AG dolls.)

Two French Braids Hairstyle Tutorial

So in an earlier post, we featured Kanani with Two French Braids, and promised a tutorial.  Today, Julie is modeling another hairstyle tutorial, Two French Braids.

 

1.  Brush and lightly mist the doll's hair.

2.  Separate the hair into two equal sections.

3. Take a small piece of hair from one of the sections.

 

 

4.  Separate this piece into three equal sections

5.  Cross piece 1 over piece 2 like so.


6. Cross piece 3 over piece 1.  Also, this time, you want to pick up hair.  In this picture, it looks like I'm crossing piece 3 over pieces 1 and 2, but I'm only crossing it over 1.


7.  Cross piece 2 over piece 3.  This time, again, you want to pick up hair.  The angle of this picture is really weird, and you can't really tell the hair that was picked up.  Just do what the words say, and not the picture for this one.


8.  Cross piece 1 over piece 3.  Once again, pick up hair.


9.  Keep braiding and picking up hair.  When all of the hair from the section has been picked up, braid normally, as in don't pick up hair.

 

10.  When you reach the end, tie it off with an elastic.  Notice that no hair in the left section has been picked up in braiding the right section.

11.  Do the same with the other section of hair.

Camp Doll Diaries

Camp Doll Diaries is going on at dolldiaries.com!  Our dolls are getting involved fully, and we have a couple of pictures for you.

The name badge that was the first day's craft, and you can find it here.  We had lots of fun making this!

Kanani models the name badge.  We will post a tutorial for her braids later.

A closer look at the visor.  It is made of purple foam, with Chrissa written with pink glitter glue.  It has pink foam hearts with pink glitter glue on them.

 

McKenna is making a sit-upon, one of yesterday's crafts.  You can find the tutorial here.

 

Mia is looking through the button basket.  She is searching for buttons to make a yoyo, for which you can find the tutorial here.

 

"Look!  I found some!" Mia shouts, excited.

 

Of course, the dolls didn't forget to play some camp games.  Here, Caroline is hiding behind a pillow.  "I hope Kanani doesn't find me," she whispered.  You can find the post about camp games here.

Dance Dolls Part 1

The dolls were watching Dance Moms and got some ideas...  Here is a photostory for you.

Caroline, McKenna, Chrissa, and Kanani were watching Dance Moms, their favorite show.

"We should act out Dance Moms!"  McKenna gasped excitedly.

 

 

"That's a great idea!" exclaimed Chrissa.  "I can play Brooke!  Everyone says I look just like her!" she continued.

 

 

"I don't really see the resemblance," replied Kanani.  "Well, anyway, I call playing Nia."

 

 

"I wanna play Chloe!!!!" Caroline yelled.  "She's my favorite dancer."

 

 

"Let's go get the other dolls,"  McKenna suggested.  "Come on!"

 

 

The girls all thought it was a great idea.  "I want to be the camera person,"  Mia demanded.

 

 

"Cool with me.  I just want to be Nia.  That's all that matters."  Kanani proclaimed.

 

 

"And I wanna be Brooke!"  Chrissa demanded.

 

 

"I want to play Kelly.  This will be fun,"  Kit stated.

"I wanna be Paige!"  Lanie demanded.  "She's my favorite dancer."

 

"Who should I play?"  Julie asked.  "I'm not really sure who I should be."

 

 

"You can be Christi!"  McKenna suggested.

 

 

"Yay!" proclaimed Julie.  "All I have to do is say that Chloe is getting unfair treatment!"

 

 

"If I take off my glasses, I can play Kendall," Molly suggested.

 

 

"I can play Mackenzie," Nicki stated.

 

 

"And I can play Jill,"  Rebecca finished. 

 

"McKenna can play Maddie!  She looks just like her!"  Mia shouted, bursting with excitement.

 

 

"Then it's all settled," Rebecca confirmed. 

 

So from left to right we have Kit: Kelly, Chrissa: Brooke, Lanie: Paige, Julie: Christi, Caroline: Chloe, Kanani: Nia, Rebecca: Jill, Molly: Kendall, Nicki: Mackenzie, McKenna: Maddie, and Mia: Cameraperson.  They can't wait to act out their parts.  (By the way, Marisol was at dance, so she wasn't in this post.  She will, however, probably be in the sequel.)
